Harare, Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) the industrial index added 0.92 points (0.59%) to settle at 155.94 points. Likewise, the market capitalization was recorded at US$ 4.054 billion..
From the market activity perspective, today’s total volume and turnover was recorded at 1.18 million and US$297,199 respectively exchanging in 12 shares via 23 transactions. Foreign investor buys US$4,787 and sells US$86,250. Out of the nine traded securities, ECONET WIRELESS Zimbabwe, HIPPO VALLEY ESTATES LIMITED and TURNALL HOLDINGS nearly 82 percent and 84 percent of total volume.
Furthermore, the day market sentiment ended positive, with five movers and three laggards. The losers were ZIMPLOW Limited dropped 1.50 cents to settle at 5 cents (i.e. lost of 23.07 percent), ZIMRE PROPERTY went down by 9.09 percent (gave up 0.10 cents to close at 1 cent) and ECONET WIRELESS shed off a cent to settle at 49 cents. While the cement maker Pretoria Portland Cement moved up 5 cents to trade at 125 cents and HIPPO Valley Estates gained 3.50 cents to close at 34.50 cents. Likewise, OLD MUTUAL rose by 3.20 cents to trade at 256.20 cents and DELTA Corporation Limited increased by 2 cents to 107 cents.
However, the Mining index rallied 0.68 points (1.56%) to close at 44.38 points. RIOZIM went up by 2.50 cents to close at 8.50 cents whilst FALGOLD had a firm bid at a cent. BINDURA and HWANGE maintained previous price levels at 4 cents and 3.50 cents respectively.
